Messrs Lowes and lorns report : — At our regulav stock sale at Masterton last Wednesday the attendance w;is much the largest of the season. We quote : — Young ewe?, small, Gs to 7s £k1 : full mouth ditto, os to 7s ; old and in low condition, 2s to 4s ; old crocks, Is to Is Gd ; young wethers, 6s Gd to 7s Gd ; lambs, 3s to Gs ; wasters, Is to lsGd; 3-year old steer.s, £5; 2-year old steers, £3 10s to £3 15s; 18---month steers, £3 to £3 5s : cows, £3 10s to £4 5s ; springing heifers, £5 5s ; fat cows, £4 10s to £5; young calves, 21s to 345. The demand for horses was very yoor. Unbroken, well-bred hacks, £8 to £10 ; broken-in hacks, £15; draughts, no sale. Pigs, weaners, 5s to 8s ; slips, 10s 6d to 17s. The Egniont Farmers' Union, Limited, Hawera, report as follows : — At Stratford on Friday 16th inst.— Steers, 12 to 18 months. i~2 to £2 14s ; weaners, £1 to £1 6s ; cows ami heifers iv calf, £'d 3s to £4 7s ; 12 to 18-month heifers, £2 to itl 4s. We held our rani fair in the Horse Bazaar on Tuesday the 20th inst. We quote : — Leicester*, .£'s r>s to ±'5 10s 3d ; i Shropshires, £\ lls 6d ; Lincolns, up to £'S 13s Gd ; Roruueys, up to £2 12s 6d. Our stock sale and ewe fair was held in the Glover road yards, Hawera, on i Wednesday, the 21st iust. We quote : — Fat bullocks, £5 17s 6d to £6 ; forward • bullocks, .£4 10* to £4 12s 6d ; 12 to 18---i months steers, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d ; fat i cows, £S 12s 6d to £4 7s ; cows in calf, £H 10a to £4. Sheep— Ewes, mixed ages, 2s 2d ; ewes,2-tooth, Gs lOd. [ At the sales yesterday at Taratahi 4000 [ sheep were yarjed, most selling, but the . prices were very low.
