At Mr Farrelly's clearing &«le on Monday, we disposed of the whole dairy tit an average of £ 4 1 6s. Pahiatua.— 2-tooth >ethers, 6s 8d to 7s 2d ; 2 and 4-tooth do., 7s 6d ; 2. 4, and 6-tooth ewes, on account of Captain Balle, of Woodville, 7s 8d to 8s; others, 6s; f.m. ewes, 4s; ii.ixed shorn lambs 3s 2d to 4s6d; woolly lambs, 4s: 2-tooth Lincoln rams, £1 Is to £4 4s ; 2-tooth Romney rams, £2 7s 3d ; aged ranis, 10s 6d to £2 2s. Mr Matthew Henry reports: Cattle — Weaners, 28s to 37s 6d ; 18 month steers, £2 17s 6J ; 2-year steeps, £3 17s 6d ; heifers in calf, £5. Sheep— 2-tooth ewes, 8s 6d , 2looth wethers, 7s to 8s ; small shorn lambs, 3s 5d to 4s ; forward ewes, Gs 7d ; oulls, Is 3d. Messrs A. G. Tame and Co. report holding their opening sale at Manakau on Wednesday, under the auspices of the Manakau Farmers' Club. Provision was made for accommodating 4000 sheep, but considerably over that number came forward. There was a large 'attendance of settlers of the district, Over 3000 sheep changed hands, the quotations being : — Fat wethers, medium weights, 9s 9d to 10s 6d ; store wethers, 2-tooths mostly, 6s lid to 8s 6d, the latter price being offered for several lines of 2-tooth sheep, but the' owner's reserve being 9s 4 6d, they were turned out .unsold. Where market prices were accepted, all sheep changed hands. Four and 6* tooth breeding ewes sold from 6s 6d to 7s sd ; full mouthed ewes, 5s to 6s 6d ; cull ewes, 2s 6d to 4s 6d ; fat ewes, 7s Od to 8s 6d. There was a good entry of store and fat cattle. Calves brought 255 ; yearlings, 355 ; young steers £2 10s, and two-year-old well grown steers up to £4 ; dairy heifers coming to calve, £4 to £4 10s.
