(PF.n PRESS ASSOCIATION) Melbourne, Februarj £2 At Caulficld this morning Pounaran and Bouuie Scotland did five furlongs in lnrin 7sec nicely. Fortunatus did six furlongs in lniin 19sec. Camion and First Shot went over the same distance comfortably in lnr'n 20$ sec. Capstan won the Trial Stakes at Sandown to-day, carrying Ost 81b. His time tor five furlongs was lniin 6sec. Previous to this 500 to 30 had been accepted about him for the Newmarket Handicap. Fortunatus was taken at 200 to 14. An offer to take 10C0 to 65 elicited no response. Cainage |was offered at 100 to 15 for the Cup, and Sternchaser 100 to 14. The Arab must prove very dangerous in the Newmarket Handicap. The Admiral and Sailor. Prince covered a mile in lmiu 50sec. The latter is in great form. Portsea and Patron strode over a mile comfortably in ltniu ulsec. The Dauphine has been scratched for all engagements at the meeting.
