♦■ Freeman R. Jackson's Wanganui report is as follows : — Dull times and low prices seem to be the order of the day. We think the bottom has been touched, and that the values for all sorts of stock will improve. The hardeuing ot the London rates for frozen meat must have corresponding effects on our markets here. At Waverley young sheep were fairly welJ competed for, and at Wanganui all good sound young sheep and lambs were sold at payable prices. Cattle maintained last sale's quotations. Cattle — Cows, £8 ; heifers, £2 11s to £2 13s; young steers, £2 IBs to £3 Is ; 3 year steers, £'6 9s ; weaners, 32s to 355. Sheep — At Waverley: Store wethers, 7s 6d to 9s ; ewes, 6s 3d to 8s ; old ewes, 4s ; latubf, 3s 3d to 4s; culls, 2s U to 2s 6d. At Wang*, nui : 2 tooth ewes, bred by Mr Hamilton, 13* Cd; others, 9s to 10s ; full mouth ewes, os Id ; fat ewes, 7s 9J to 8s 4d ; eotne very heavy ewes, lls 6d to 13s ; wethera, 8s to 9s ; woolly lambs, 4s 9d to 6s Id; shorn, 3s 9d to 4s 5d ; culls, Is I to Is 10J.
