This Day. i Advice has been received from London of the death of the Hon. Jas. McPherson, who was Premier of Victoria in 1869. Adelaide, This Day. A committee has been formed to carry out the scheme formulated by Sir J. W. Downes to relieve the unemployed. The committee purpose gathering subscriptions to take up mineral leases and employ the men in prospecting for metals. Hob art, This Day. A man named Normoyle shot a man named Knight dead. The tragedy is attributed to the alleged infidelity of the former's wife.
