Manawatu Road Board.

The ordinary meeting of the Hanawatu Road Board was held yesterday. Present — Wardens Smght (chair man), Stevens, Stubbs, and Luxford. The following correspondence was received : — From Mr J. Hughes, calling attention to the bad state of BunnythorpeKairanga road between the Boundary and Hughes' road, and asking that it be metalled before the winter sets in. From J. H. Haukins, applying for the Board's consent to a transfer of lease of sections 1501-2-3 and 4, Bunnythorpe, from J. A. Anderson to Sarah Ann Boddy. Mr Hughes waited on the Board and asked that the BunnytborpeKairanga road be repaired for a distance of about 20 chains.— The chairman said the work would be attended to if possible. It was decided to call tendors for the following works : —Bridge on Wilfcon'a Line; supply of 100 yards of metal on llailway Line ; cleaning No. 4 Line drain from weeds and slrps from the Longburn road to Mr Grant's lower gate ; cleaning out the Bunny-thorpe-Kairanga road drain from 20 chains beltfw Hughes' Line to the middle of Mr Sheerin's section to the original bottom ; cleaning out the Government reserve drain from the Longburn road to 20 chains below Messrs Grant and Hurley's boundary ; for metalling 20 chains on Bunny thorpe-Kairanga road, and 40 chains on Knight's Line ; building bridge to gravel pit on Eangitikei Line ; and metalling 20 chains of the Middlo Aorangi road downward from tbe end of the present metal. It was decided to advertise the tenders in the local papers.
