The Manawatu Farmers' Co-operative Association (Limited) report for the week ending 9th February, 1894 : — Since our last report the weather has been very favourable for burning operations. The result has been good burns and good demands for grass and otlier seeds. The quality and quantity of grain this season will compare very favourably with last year. Our quotations aro : Wheat - Whole fowls, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; broken, 3s to 3s 3d. Oats — Stout feed, 2s 5d to 2s 7d ; light feed, 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Barley — Sound feed, 3s 3d to 3s 6d. . Beaus — Horse, 4s to 4s 3d- Peas— Blue Prussian, 3s 6d to 3s 9d. Maize— 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Oatsheaf Chaff— The new chaff to hand is of good quality, 70s to 755. Potatoes — Derwents, 50s to 60s ; kidneys and flukes, 70s to 755. Cheese — Factory, 5d to sjd ; dairy, 7d to 7Ad. Hams— Factory, 9Ad to IOd ; dairy, B!,d to 9d. Eggs— lOd to Is doz. ButterDairy, this article is getting very bad treatment iv the Home and Continental markets, as nothing will go down but factory made ; any other make of butter is absolutely unsaleable, except at a very low figure. We can only quote 5d and separator 7d. The United Farmers' Alliance (Limited) report as follows — Wheat — No new wheat offering yet ; whole fowl wheat, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; broken, 3s to 3s 3d. Oats — One or two lines of uew oats have been offered, but the market has not yet opened for them ; we quote old sparrowbills, 27-Jd to to 2s Bjd ; duns, 2s 8d to 2s 9d. Barley— Feed, 3s to 3s 3d. Peas — Prussian blues, 4s ; grey, 3s 9d to 4s. Potatoes — Kidneys, .£4 ; Derwents, i' 2 15s to .£3 ss. Chaff — Best oatensheaf, .£4 ss ; second quality, £'6 15s to £4. Grass seeds— Owing to the dry weather, aud good burns, a good business has been dove in these, and prices are firm, with au upward tendency. We quote best Poverty Bay, (>s 3d ; old pasture Canterbury machine dressed, 4s 6d to O.s.
