THE COMING ELECTIONS.
It would appear that laxity on the part of electors in neglecting to have their names placed on the electoral rolls, is not confined to this district. The Wellington Post says : — lt is really extraordinary that of the hundreds of men and women struck off the electoral rolls through not having voted at the late election, so very few have applied to be reinstated. The rolls are now in course of being compiled for re-printing, and unless immediate application is made those who were unable to vote at the general election will find themselves also disqualified at the approaching licensing election. Practically every name on the roll will exercise an influence on the result of the vote on that occasion, and it is most desirable that the electoral roll in each licensing district should represent the full voting power of the community. We strongly advise all those whose names have been struck off', and all those who have acquired a qualification since the general election, to send in claims for registration without delay.
