The Feilding Star. Published Daily.

WEDNESDAY, FEBY. 7, 1894. HOSPITAL SUNDAY. The Standard of this morning says : " The institution of a Hospital Sunday in Palmerston is an admirable pro posal, and we have no doubt that it will result in a substantial addition to the funds of the hospital, which are in none too flourishing a state. Sunday next is the first day on which the collections in the various churches will be taken, and that a goodly amount will be the result of the Hospital Sunday — which it may be mentioned, is subsidised by the Government to the extent of 24s for every £ — will be the earnest wish of all who have the interests of the institution at heart." It appears to us that instead of holding the collections in the Palmerston North places of worship only, every church in the Palwerston North Hospital District should have been invited to join. It is a mistake to be conservative in well doing.
