[I'EH PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, This Day. The hearing of the libel uctiou of £500, brought by Mr Bell, M.H.R., against the weekly journal Fair Play for saying he was exhilarated by something other than his victory on the night of the general election, began to-day. The morning was occupied by four witnesses, who were called to state what meaning they attached to the paragraph. They all concurred that they understood it to mean Mr Bell was under the influence of liquor.
