W.C.T.U Meeting.

a meeting 01 we \i omen b unn9uau Temperance Union, and others willing to assist hi advancing the proposed Temperance Demonstration to be held in Feilding on Easter Monday, was held in the Foresters' Hall last evening. The attendance was rather small, owing, no doubt, to other meetings being held during the evening. Mr W. G. Shearer was voted to the chair, and explained that the meeting had been called for the purpose of taking some steps towards holdinga demonstration on Easter Monday. He would like someone present to make some suggestion as to the course they should follow. Miss Dalrymple mentioned that at the last meeting which was held it was resolved that the Band of Hope children and all other denominations should join in holding a grand demon* strtion at Easter, They could arrange to have the children taken to the ground in brakes, and it would be better, she thought, to have the provisions catered for, as it would be preferable to making a house to house canvas, and a small charge could be made for admission to the grounds. What they wanted was a really good demonssration, as it would assist materially in bringing about the cause of temperance. Mr S. Andrew thought that the temperance demonstration as suggested would be a valuable aid in extending the cause, but he would like to see a much larger affair than the previous one. He proposed, "That this meeting decide on holding a Temperance Demonstration op Easter Monday, and that all temperance bodies in the adjoining districts b§ invited to cq-operate." Mr {Shearer seconded the motion, which was carried, A committee was fprmed of those present in the hall— with, power to add to their number — which, ifrwas decided, should meet in the Primitive -Methocliafc Church on Wednesday evening next, a£ 7.30., to make further arrangements. N It was decided that Mr Shearer bo appointed to work up the musical portion oi the proceedings. After the usual vote of thanks to the chair, the meeting lispersed .
