Small Farm Association.

A meeting of members of the Gladstone Small Farm Homestead Association was held in Short's Hall last evening, Mr J. Long being in the chair. There was not much business to transact, but Mr W. T. Bowater, the Secretary to the Association, read various correspondence, etc., from the Commissioner ot Crown Lands, and from these it would seem that the prospects of the Association were very encouraging to those who have an interest in the block. The surveying of the block is now being proceeded with, and it is anticipated that as soon as tbe road lines have been cut and the sections laid of!', the balloting will take place, and members will then have an opportunity of seeing their land. Due notice will be given through the press when the time has been fixed for the balloting, which in all probability will be held in the Forester's Hall. Mr Bowater handed in his resignation as Secretary, owing to his having to leave the district, and on the proposition of Mr J. f . 5. Thompson, seconded by Mr G. Adams, Mr J. Long was elected to fill the position. It was also resolved, on the motion of Mr Thompson, seconded by Mr Adams, that friends be allowed to draw together for their sections. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Bowater for his past services, and after passing one or two small accounts for payment the meeting adjourned.
