Wool Sales.
(per press association.") Sydney, January 24. The weekly wool sales have practically terminated. The firm tone which prevailed at Christmas time has scarcely been maintained since. Competition has been excellent, but values for all descriptions of gveasy merinos have been about }d lower. Cross-breds and scoured sorts fared better, and were fairly firm. At last quotations, greasy cross-breds were at 6Ad to 10d, washed at from 8d to Hid, and scoured at from lQ£d to Is s|d*. Napier, January 24. The third scries of wool .sales of the season were hold to-day, when about 400 bales were offered. Nearly everythiug was sold. Prices ruled about level with those of last sales, lambs and merinos being a shade easier. Other sorts were very firm. No scoured wool was offered. The top prices were : — Lambs, 8M ; fine oross-breds and half-breds, Bid; rough cross-breds, 7 ?d; merino, G4d
