«. Championship Singles have been played off by the local club as follows : — Matheson beat Read, 12-14, 6-4 and G-iJ ; Lance beat limes Jones, (3-1, 6-0 ; Strachan beat Richmond. 6-4, 0-1. In the Gent's Handicap Singles Mildred (half MO) beat Barton (owe !s<», 0-a, l-(>. 0-7. The final for the Ladies' Handicap Singles was played ott between Miss A. Fry (scrt. and Mrs Macarthur (half J .">), The former winning. The scores were f>-7, 0-3, and !■•>. A match was played at Wanganui on Monday between the Wanganui and Feilding clubs, the latter winning by two games. Following are the scores, the first names meutioned in each game being Wangauui players: — Doubles Harold and Thompson v Barton and Brabant, 9-7 ; Thompson and Harold v Lanye and Mildred, 9-4 ; Barnicoat and Butler v Barton ami Brabant, 8-9 ; Barnicoat and Butler v Lance and Mildred, 3-9. Singles.— Harold v Barton 9-H, Harold v Lance 6-9, Thomson v Barton 4-9, Thompson v Lance 6-9, Barnicoat v Mildred 7-9, Barnicoat v Brabant 9-6, Butler v Mildred 9-4, Butler v Brabant 9-7. The prize for the winner of the Ladies' Handicap Singles was presented to Miss A. Fry by Mrs Barton yesterday, on the Clubs ground.
