* (PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Blenheim, January 22. 1 H. L. Severne' for many years master of the Havelock Suburban School, com--1 mitted suicide yesterday afternoon by - shooting himself with a gun. He had 9 apparently laid down on his bed, pointing the gun between his eyes and pulled J the trigger with his left foot. He first l destroyed his pet dog. Deceased was about 50 years of age and unmarried. t Donedin, January 22. Horace Talbot, laborer, was killed in s the bush at Forboose on Saturday through a tree falling on him. ' Auckland, January 22. ' A man's skeleton was found yesterday 1 in the scrub at Henderson's, 11 miles , from Auckland. There was a bullet hole in the forehead, and a revolver, I with one barrel discharged, was near the body, and the other barrels were loaded. There were nine cartridges in the , pockets of the man's clothes, also about .£•l4. [ Mastkkton, January 22. , The body of Walter Ockenden, who I lias been missing since 12th January. , was found this evening in Beetham's I dam at Lonsdowne. Deceased wan , .summoned to appear at the Resident Magistrate's* Court, but failed to appear. and a warrant had been issued for his arrest. It is supposed to be a case of ; suicide. ' Hokitika, January 22. ' A boy of 12 years, namo 1 Atkinson,! 1 fell down a shaft. When recovered, it ; was found that his head was Tory much knocked about. It is feared (hat there is no chauce of his recovery. ' Wellington, This Day. ! An old man named Wm. Strachau, 1 aged over sixty, was found hanging ' dead in an outhouse at his residence in ' Hopper street, this morning. He was a steady sober man {but was depressed lately owing to money matters.
