Wool Sales.
« _ (per press association.") Chbistchtbch, January 19. The third series of wool sales of the present season was held to-day. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding for all descriptions, except merino fleece, was characterised by a fair spirit. Crossbred wools, especially the stronger and brighter descriptions, sold well at prices equal to those obtained at the December sales, but merino wools suffered a decline from those rates, and some large clips were withdrawn. However, descriptions both of crossbred and merino for scouring purposes sold particularly well. Prices were as follows : — Greasy merino, superior, 7d to 7 3d ; medium to good, 6d to 6f d ; inferior, 4d to s£d ; pieces, 4d to 6»d ; locks, 2d to B.Jd; half bred, superior, Bj.d to 93d ; medium to good, 7jd to B}d ; crossbred, superior, 8d to Gi'd ; medium to good, 7d to 7f d ; halfbred and crossbred, inferior, 6d to 7d ; pieces, superior, 6d to 7 -id pieces, medium, 4Jd to 5-Jd ; locks, 2.\d to 3d. Scoured wool sold as follows : — Merino, to 14d ; half-bred (second), to 12kl.
