Meeting of the Cabinet.

IMPORTANT PROPOSALS. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, January 19. A Cabinet meeting was held to-clay, all the members of the Ministry being present, except the Hon. Mr Carroll, who returns irom the north to-night. Several important questions, including the appointment of Railway Commissioners, and the advisability of making fresli calls to the Legislative Council, were discussed, but no decision was arrived at pending the arrival of Mr Carroll. A full meeting will be held tomorrow, when it is expected some of the larger policy questions will be finally disposed of.
