Stock Markets.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : On Friday we held a clearing sale at the farm of Mr Hitchings, Longburn, when we offered his stock and implements ■without reserve. A general clearance was effected at prices rather better than ruling rates. Two-tooth ewes made 10s, fat ewes 7s Bd, unculled lambs (somewhat small) 4s, in their wool ; breeding ewes, 7s 8d ; milkers and springing heifers, M 12s 6d to £1 7s 6d; draught horses, £16 to £25 10s ; hacks, .£6 to £8 ss ; and a whole list of machinery, &c, at fair values. At Levin, on Wednesday, cattle were in short supply, but sheep were plentiful. The demand for cattle was limited ; for sheep bidding was practically confined to young sorts. At Palmerston yesterday cattle came forward in moderate numbers, and sheep were fairly numerous. The bulk of the cattle sold ; rates somewhat easier. Sheep were steady throughout, but prices were generally in favor of the buyer ; the greater portion of the entry changed hands. At Levin — 3-year-old steers made M 10s ; yearlings, £2 2s to £3 2s ; weaners, 26s ; springers and milkers, £5 5s to £'6 7s 6d ; 2-tooth sheep, 7s to 8s 3d ; 4-tooth wethers, 9s : 2-tooth ewes, 9s Id; shorn lambs, 4s; ewes Is. At Palmerston - Forward bullocks, i f 6 Is ; medium fat cows, £4 to £4 16s 6d ; 18-months-old steers, £2 125 ; 2-year steers, £3 Is ; cows, in calf, £3 10s to £3 17s 6d ; yearling heifers, £2 8s ; weaners, small, 26s ; forward ewes, 6s lid; fat ewes, 8s; 2-tooth wethers, 8s 2d to 8s lOd ; 2-tooth ewes, 9s to 9s 5d ; aged ewes, 2s lOd.
