Stock Markets.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report on their sale at Pu.hner.ston yesterday as follows : — Cattle were plentiful ; stock throughout changed hands at reduced rates ; female cattle were neglected ; sheep moved oil' slowly at auction, but almost all eventually disposed of. We found old ewes very jnuch out of favor, and rates for these are decidedly low. Medium fat bullocks, £G to £6 3s Gd ; do. cows, £4 10s; 3-year-old steers, £4 Us ; 2-year do., £3 11s Gd to £3 18s Gd; 18-mos. do., £2 16s ; springers, £5 to £5 10s ; others, £4 to £4 18s ; small weaners (poor quality), 23s Gd to 255. Sheep ; Forward ewes, Gs 7d ; fat do,, 7s lid ; store ewes, 5s ; ewes nnd lambs, all counted, 5s lOd ; mixed 2-tooths, 8s Gd to 9s ; lambs, 6s Gd. Mr Matthew Henry reports as follows : — The market supplies in store stock were small, but quite equal to the requirements, the demand being very lifeless. For Mr Lancaster's dairy stock trade ruled brisk, 22 out of 24 being sold at satisfactory prices. Quotations are as follows: — Cattle: 18---months steers, £2 19s Gd ; heifers, in calf, £i 10s to £1 15s; weaners, 20s to 31s ; dairy cows, in milk and to calve, £5 5s to 4*7 13s. Sheep : Forward ewes, Gs 3d.
