The Wellington Bishopric

iPer Press Association.] Wellington, January 8. The Rev Canon Danks, who has been offered the Bishopric of Wellington, is about 45 years of age,, and was a graduate of Queen's College, Oxford. He took his degree of B.A. in 1866, and that of M.A. in the following year. He was appointed Deacon in the Church of England in 1868, and was ordained priest by the bishop of Lincoln in 1869. Canon Danks is Rector of Richmond, Yorkshire, and was appointed Canon of Ripon Cathedral, Yorkshire, in 1890. In 1888 Canon Danks received an appointment of select preacher to the University of Cambridge.
