Wk are pleased to notice that the French Cabinet are likely to act with some degree of common sense in connection with the unfortunate collision between the French and English forces in Africa. We are told that the authorities have decided to make adequate amends if the British version of the incident is correct, that is to say, up to the time the last cablegram was sent from London, the French Cabinet had reserved the right to question the truth of the report as received in England, j I»i that they are, of course, perfectly justified. The most pleasing part of the cablegram is that the French press have not become, after the manner of their kind, rampant against "pcrjide Albion." This is an agreeable change from the Anglo-plobia they displayed both before and during the recent visit of the Russian fleet at Toulon. It may also be interpreted to mean that the present is not the proper season to attempt to pick a quarrel.
