The Melbourne Child Murder Case.
„ A HANGMAN COMMITS SUICIDE. THE PRISONER CONFESSES TO MORE MURDERS. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION). Melbourne, January 7. Jones, the hangman, received a letter from the assistant hangman stating he declined to hang the condemned woman Knorr. Jones himself was strongly adverse to undertaking the operation, and this apparently preyed on his mind, and he proceeded to hU own room in the gaol, and committed suicide by cutting his throat Mrs Knorr has confessed to a number I of other crimes than those from which | she was tried, but her confession is not to be made public until after her execution.
