The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve to be £15,552,000, and the proportion of the reserve to liabilities to be 45-44. Three mouths' bills are discounted at lij. The market is quiet. New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, firm, 295 ; South Australian wheat, ex warehouse, firm, 29s 6d ; Victorian, steady, 29s 3d. The weather is hardening the wheat markets. Frozen meat — New Zealand mutton — First quality, 4Ad per lb ; .second quality, 4|d. Lamb, first quality, 4«d. Danish butter, 124s per cwt, New Zealand 4 per cent, iuscribed stock, 107 ; 3 1 per cent, ditto, 97.
