Terrible Tragedy in Melbourne.

(PRB PBRBB ASSOCIATION). Melboubne, This Day. A curious affair occurred in Albert Park, South Melbourne, last night. A young girl, named McLellan, was walking with her lover, named Birtle, when she suddenly drank the contents of a bottle, which she threw in her lover's face, remarking : " There, you will be troubled by me no longer." Before she could be stopped the girl jumped over the pier, leaving Birtle dumb-founded. Satchell, the wellknown cyclist, jumped after her, but was compelled to relinquish his hold in order to try and save himself. A life belt was thrown down, but in the dim light he could not see it, and both were drowned under the eyes of hundreds of spectators.
