PALMKRSTON SPORTS. Tlic above gathering held yesterday must be pronounced a success, despite the .showery weather. About 1200 were on the ground, and everything went of smoothly. The Secretary and all the officials worked hard, and the decisions of judges gave great satisfaction. The following aro the results : — Maiden Race — A. Holding, 1 ; J. Cochcrane2; R. Newth. 3. Seven started. One Milo Handicap — A, Hall, scr, 1 ; S. Haynes, 100 yds, '2 : A. Wilson, 50yds, 3. B. Colemau and E. Peebles were the other startors. Amateur 100 yds — J. Preudergast, 5 yds, 1 ; H. Palmer, Hyds, 2 ; W. Jewell, iyd, y. 100 yds Handicap — J. Boyce, syds, 1 ; E. Smith, fciyds, 2 ; J. Rickards, syds, 3. A W Watts, I Watts, A Lilbume, D Mouton, W Brown, and A Bedford also competed. Hurdle Race, 220yds -A W Watts, scr, 1 ; H Peebles, 15yds, 2 ; A Bedford, 18 yds, 3. J Cathro also starred. Two-mile Walk— A Rush, 25yds, 1; W McMillan, 100 yds, 2; B Colemau, 25yds, 3. 220 yds Handicap— F Lilbume, 13yds, 1 ; A W Watts, scr, 2; J Rickards, 12yds, 3. I Watts, E Smith, D Mouton also ran. Hall-mile Handicap— A W Watts, 30 yds, 1 ; A Wilson, 40yda, 2 ; S Haynes, syds, 3. H Peebles and W Barr also ran. Amateur 140yds— H Palmer, 40yds, 1 ; W Dignau, 40yds, 2 ; A Weeks, scr, 8. Bicycle Race, 3 miles - H Lyons, 320 yds, 1 ; T Kitchen, 200 yds, 2 ; R Clarkson, scr, 3. 440 yds Handicap— J Rickards, 25yds, 1 ; F Lilbume, 18yds, 2 ; I Watts, 10yds, 3. A W Watts and J Boyce were the other starters. Bicycle Ruce, one mile — H Lyon, scr, 1 ; T Kitchen, 2. Consolation, 220yds— It Newth, 1; P Dixon, 2. Four started. The medal presented by Messrs Wood and Wishart to the competitor gaining the highest number of points in the runuiug and walking events was won by A W Watts with 18 points. DUNEDIN CALEDONIAN SPORTS. Two-mile Walk— A Crichton 1, A Foody 2, Leslie 3. WELLINGTON SPORTS. R, A Gilchrist won the 100, 220, and 440 of the Caledonian Handicap. H : Woon won the Half and Mile events, and W Arnott the 120 Hurdles. HAWERA SPORTS. G Lett won the 100 and 220; King was second in these events, and won the 440. Jarrett won the Mile and was second in the Half. R McNiven won the Walk, and Rowe the Hurdles, H Cameron second.
