Pohangina Requirements.

Wellington, December 28. At the Land Board meeting to-day, Mr F. Pirani, M.H.R., brought up a question of vesting the reserves in the Pohangina township in the Pohangina Board, and pointed out that under the Land Act reserves could be handed over to local authority. The Commissioner undertook to get an opinion on the matter, and if possible to hand the sections in question to the Road Board. Mr Pirani also brought up the matter of the non-payment of the grant of . £500 for a road through the Pohangina totara reserve to the Road Board, although £300 had already been paid on account of the work to the contractors, and the balance was due early next month. The Commissioner explained that the omission had been made by the Department in not getting a formal agreement signel, but the matter would be rectified as soon as possible.
