A Triplet of Fools.
The ex-Mayor of Christchurcli, in taking leave of his Council, said he hoped that steps would be taken to make the cabmen wear uniforms, which would add lustre to the city and make a good impression on visitors. A Melbourne coroner recently said : "An example should be made of people committing suicide, and he was determined to put the practice do.wn." Women in snowy white are thought to look so fascinating that an Ameri can bishop has forbidden female choristers to wear white gowns, least they should distract the attention of the congregation.
