The Public Trust Office, constituted by "Tho Public Trust Offico Act, 1872," baa been sinco much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1691 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from Investments at the discretion ot the l'ublio Trustee, and insures the regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lio Trusteo's administration must bo considered of the utmost importances to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. The value of this guarantee is In the Cuarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in bivestmout, and for the rogular and punctual payniont of the interest, free of all charges ofth* Public Trust Oj&ice. In the appointment of Trustees there must always be serious concern as to the security of the capital funds ; aud tbo larger the capital funSs the greater must be the concern for security, and tho less for a high rate of interest. The Public Trustee cannot die, cannot leavo tho colony, cannot become awqualinod, or involved in private difficulties, and cannot be distrusted.
