The first innings of the New South Wales team closed for 118, or a dozen ahead of their opponents, In their second innings South Australia has lost three wickets for 211 runs. Lyons made 82, and Geo Giffen, not out, 60. Melbourne, December 17. The 25 mile bicycle road race was won by Patterson, of Victoria. A J Body, of Christchurch, though unplaced, made the fastest time— viz., lhr 21min 57sec. Sydney, This Day. The Governor has remitted the fines imposed on the manager, secretary, and directors of tbe Dubbo Boiling Down Company for slaughtering without a license. The total penalties amounted to £50,618. The wheat yield for the colony is now estimated at seven and a half million bushels, the average being 12 6 bushels per acre. Tho grain is generally of good quality. Melbourne, Dec 18. The man who was brutally beaten by his son-in-law, Fitzsimmoos, has succumbed to his injuries.
