District Sheep Returns.
Following are the numbers of sheep in the undermentioned counties on April 30th of 1892 and 1893:— Oroua County— lß92, 494,039; 1893,520,---670. Manawatu County — 1892, 220,611; 1893, 222,100. HorowhenuaCounty—lß92,lo7,Bl2; 1893, 1 2.5,726. The total increase is 46,534. Following are the owners of 5,000 sheep and over in the counties named : — W. Baker, Makino, 6.000; W. Akera, Palmerston North, 5,300; A. Bell, Halcombe, 13,100; C. Bull, Aorangi, 7,700; W .Coombs, Fitzherbert, 7,500; J. Cotter, Aahurst, 6,210 ; C. Pharazyn, Makino, 11,890 ; Sir J. Prendergast, Palmerston N., 9,686; D. GK Riddiford, Halcombe, 5,200; J. J. Williamson, FeiU)ing, 5,350* H. Barber, Wimatangi, 11,000; Carnarvon estate, 17,278; W. W. Johnstone, Awahuri, 9,059; Motoa estate, 18,696; J. G. Wilson, Bulls, 8,100; Davies and Stuart, Wirokino, 1 1,000 ; J. and R. McDonald, Horowhenua, 6,000 : J. Waugh, To Horo, 8,314; Oroua Downs estate, 1 1,249 ; F. Robinson, Foxton, 8,000 ; Strang Bros., Shannon, 5,650 ; D. and W. Manson, Feilding, 22,362.
