Cricket News.

The Cup match between the Birmingham and Halcombe Clubs, played at Birmingham on Saturday, resulted in a victory for Halcombe by seven wickets. A very high wind prevailed all day, which detracted considerably from the enjoyment of the game. The scores, a detailed list of which will be published to-morrow, were as follows: — Birmingham: Ist innings, 51; 2nd innings, 32. Halcombe: Ist innings, 88; 2nd innings, total for three wickets, 47. The Cup match between Palmerston and Marton, played at Feilding on Saturday, resulted in an easy victory for Falmerston by an innings and 24 runs. Falmerston batted first, and put together 151. Marton made a very poor stand in their first innings, being all out for 42. In their second innings the Marton men fared better, and knocked up 85. The Union Cricket Club defeated Carnarvon on Saturday by seven wickets and two runs.
