The Bank of England returns, published to-day, show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £16,806,000, the proportion of reserve to liabilities being 52*52 per cent. New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock, 106 ; 3£ do., 95|. New Zealand long-berried wheat, ex warehouse, 29s 3d, steady ; South Australian do., 30s, restricted; Victorian do., 29s 6d, quiet. Frozen Mutton— First quality, IJd; second quality, 3|d. Lamb— First quality, 4£d. Hemp — The market is quiet, and 125 bales of New Zealand were bought in. Danish butter, 122s per cwt. Three months' bills are discounted at 2 J per cent. The market is steady. The wool market is steady, and prices are unchanged. Mosgiel is bringing 7£d.
