Mr Matthew Henry reports—Cattle—-2-year steers, L 4; yearlings, L2 to .L2 10s; weaners, 275; forward cows, Li 16s; dairy cows, L 6; store pigs, 17s 6s. Sheep —lnferior ewes and lambs 8s lOd. Messrs Abraham & Williams report— Good entries came forward yesterday of both sheep and oattlp. An improved demand was apparent for all classes of stores. We quote bb follows—CattleFat bullocks, L 7 10s to L 7 15a ; fat oows, L 4 15s to L 5 ; forward bullocks, L 6; 2J year steers, L 4 11s to L 4 14s ; 2-year steers, L 8 19s to L 4 Is ; mixed yearlings, L2 10b to L2 16b ; weaners (small) 85s 6d; cows and cal yes, L 4 18s ; heifers in calf, L 3 16d to L 4 7s; store cows, L810s; dairy cows and heifers, L 4 10s to L 6 4s 6d. Sheep—Fat wethers, 10s 8d; fat ewes 8s to 9s 5d ; forward wethers, 9s lOd ,* 2-tooth wethers (good), 9s 4d; mixed 2-tooth, 7s lid to 8s Id ; 2-tooth sheep, in wool, 11s 9d; shorn Romney ewes, 8s Id.
Albert Barns & Son’s stock report—We had good entries at our Campbelltown (Wanganui) sale on Wednesday, the 6th inst., and we are glad to be able to report a marked improvement in the tone of tbe market. We quote—Cattle—Fat cows, L 4 10s to L 5 78 ; 12 to 18-month steers, L2 15s ; milkers, Lsss to L 6 10s. Sheep -Full-mouth ewes and lambs, 6s 9d; dry ewes, 7s 6d ,* forward wethers, 8s 6d to 9s 6d; fat wethers, 10s. Pigs—Fair baconers, 355; porkers, 13s 6d to 17s.
