- • - | Per Peess Association.] Auckland, December 6. The report of the commission on the heresy charges against the Be? J. S. Neill, of Thames, has been >übmitted to the Auckland Presbytery. It is a lengthy document. The evidence set forth that there had been a falling off in the number of Mr Neill's congregation, because oF their want of faith in him as an expounder of fhe truth of true Christianity. As to Nr Neill's connection with the Tlieosoj-hical Society, the report says thnt he admitted to the commission that he was the corresponding secretary of the Theosoplm cal Society, but that he refused to state if he had been the means of bringing Mrs Oakley to Auckland, or if he was a member of the •• inner circle " of the society. The commission found that Mr Neill is an active member of the Theosophical Society, whose leading members in Auckland are busily engaged in antiChristian teaching and in circulating anti-Christian literature They recommend that the case be referred to the General Assembly of the Church. Mr Neill has intimated hia desire that the case should go to the General Assembly, and has stated that he will appeal from any decision the Presbytery may come to." ———--—=-
