THE KIWITEA CROSS ROAD BRIDGE.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE STAR. Sir,— As I know you are always willing to raise your voice in furtherance of any public benefit, I wish you would do so now and endeavour to make that very deliberate body, the Kiwitea Eoad Board, do something towards getting the Eiwitea bridge on the Cross road. lam aware that the chairman affirmed that no one was ever prevented from fording the river, but if he will take a drive down now I fancy he will hesitate about trying to cross. Yesterday and to-day the settlers who live on the Beaconsfield road were forced to leave their carts on the bank of the river and carry their milk across the footbridge and then employ some one to carry the milk down to the factory. Even when the river goes down the ford will be impassable as there is a hole about six feet deep right in the ford. Hoping that yon will insert this. I am, etc., Viator.
