Campbelltown Accidents

[FBOM OCB OWN COBBBBPONDBNT.] The accident to the milkcart, belonging to Mr Knight (reported in your Saturday's issue), was accompanied by a singular incident. It appears that the driver was on his way to the factory, when the horse shied at sotne object on the roadside, and attempted to jump the drain alongside. The vehicle was capsized, and the contents of six twenty gallon cans of milk emptied into the drain, where the driver lying prone was nearly drowned with the superabundant lacteal fluid. In the meantime the horse broke through all of the harness, except the breeching strap. It was very badly soared, and so was the driver because the rains had become entangled round his arms, and if the horse had bolted the consequences would have been very serious. Fortunately, a gentleman was passing, and coming to the driver's help released him from his unpleasant predicament. On Saturday Mr P. H. Thompson had an accident of a somewhat similar nature. His dray had just taken its departure from the factory, with a large tank of buttermilk. When driving up a small incline the tip-gear of the dray worked free. Of course the usual thing happened and the driver, who was seated on the tank, was thrown up in the air and fortunately lit on his feet— unhurt. The tank was not so lucky, for a hole was knocked in it through which its contents, amounting to one hundred and twenty gallons, wasted Mr Thompson, who was riding behind the dray and witnessed the occurrence, admitted that he was very startled. m^ mmmmmmmmmmmm^ mmm
