The Fielding Star. Published Daily. MONDAY, DEC. 4, 1893. POLO CLUB FOR FEILDING.
We would like to nee the Polo Club which started here a short time ago spring into active life. The work which has been done so far consists of the election of a working committee and a secretary, Mr O. Cooper, but that is all. Polo is not only one of the most manly games, but it is also one of the most popular for yonng men who are desirous of cultivating a good seat and a steady band on hoseback. A good polo player is sure to be a good all-round man, while those who are merely aspirants for that title have the certain knowledge that with application and proper training they can soon raise themselves up to a fair average. There is already a strong club in Bulls, and another in Palmerston North, and as the young men in this neighbourhood are just as active, and as well able to bear the inevitable expense, we do not see wby the Feildiug Club should not go on and prospor.
