TO-MORROW'S POLL.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STATt. Sib,— The destiny of the colony will to a certain extent be decided tomorrow, and it is necessary that we should have men to represent us whom we can trust. Education is of the greatest importance, and a candidate's views on this Biibjeut should influence every elector's votes in favor of the candidate who opposes State aid to private schools. Mr Lethbridge supports the present system, but Mr Stevens would give aid to denominational schools, which is one step in the direction of stopping free primary education at tho fourth standard, Everybody must know the hardship this would inflict, as there is only a very small minority in New Zealand who can afford to pay more in taxes than at present. Again, Mr Stevens is strongly in favor of the present Government, or, in other words, is a partisan. There is a growing feeling amongst thinking men that Party Government is a fraud, and we should not make the mistake of electing a man who is at the beck and call of party. I am, etc., . Settler.
