WOMEN'S VOTES.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAH. Sir,— A great deal of foolish and unnecessary advice has been given to women as to who they should vote for. Some mischievous or designing persons would lead women to believe that they should of themselves form a political party separate and distinct trom that of their male friends. No doubt the greater number of them see that in electing a representative to Parliament they must bo as practical in their choice of a candidate as their husbands and fathers are, and select the same man that they do— not merely the man who flatter them most. "A house divided against itself shall not stand." I know Mr Lethbridge very well. He is my neighbour, and I do not wish to say anything unkind of him ; but there is certainly no reason why he should receive a single vote from man or woman of our party, for he is a decided opponent of the Government, and we should not support " the howling inconsistent " Opposition The great hopes of every good man and woman are founded on Liberalism, and all New Zealand's great Reformers are on our side; and by voting for Mr Stevens we also support them. I am informed that all the small estates in the Waituna new block are likely to become the property of three Waituna landowners (though your Waituua correspondents do not mention it), but the present Government and Graduated Land Tax hinders the business, I believe. If the Government and its legislation are overthrown then this sort of land grabbing will go on all over the colouy to the colony's great loss. I am, etc., Farmer.
