THE RANGITIKEI ELECTION. TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAB. Sir,— Now that election day is so close upon us, as a temperance worker, and feeling very anxious about the way in which my fellow workers are likely to vote, I feel constrained to ask you for a small portion of your valuable space in which to urge upon I the temperance body to vote in the right direction. I think we may come to the conclusion from Mr Stevens' published replies, in answer to questions put by the temperance deputation, that he is most decidedly against us. As we know Mr Lethbridge to be staunch and true, as well as a total abstainer, and we have his promise to work for us in every way for the good of our cause, I think it behoves the temperance people to accord him a block vote. I trust there will be no hesitation on the part of any member of the temperance party to show their confidence in Mr Lethbridge at the ballot box, for every right thinking person must see that he is our man. I am, etc., A Member W.O.T.U. Feilding, 25th October.
