THE Public Trust Office off New Zealand is a Government institution to afford, at low rates Of commission, a socuro and convenient recourse (or tboßo who, desirous of forming trusts iv tho colony, cannot satisfactorily appoint private trustees or executors, and for persons unablo or unwilling to undertako or continue tho administration of tho trusts accepted by or imposed upon them. The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," has boon sinco much enlarged in its functions by amending Acts, to moot growing requirements. Tho Amendmont Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from Investments at the discretion of tho l'ublic Trustee, and insures tho regular payment of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of the Pub. lie Trustee's administration must be considered of the utmost importance to every person contemplating the appointment of a trustee. The colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees aISO the Integrity of the Capital Funds invested at the option of the Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on tho capital funds arising for investment out of the properties placed iv tho Public Trust Office, % common rate of interest, to bo paid quarterly. Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. Tho valuo of this puaranteo is in tho Guarantee of the Colony against loss from investments in bad or Insufficient securities, and against loss from delay in investment, and for tho regular and punctual paymont of the interest, free of all oharges of the l'ublic Trust Office. In tho appointment of Trustees there must always bo serious concern as to the security of the capital funds; and the larger the capital fuudu tho groatcr must be the concern for security, and tho loss for a high rate of interest. Tho Public Trustee cannot die, cannot leave the colony, cannot bocome disqualified, or involved iv private difficulties; and cannot be distrusted. In private trustoeships, doath and absonce render nocessary numerous and oxponsiye deeds not required by Public Trusteo's administration, which has, besides, tho offloo solicitor's advico without cxpenso to the estates. By all who know or have experienced tho contingencies of private trusteeships tuet e advantages must bo appreciated.
