The Rangitikei Election

MR IVESS RETIRES FROM THE CONTEST. (FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Marton, This Day. At a meeting at Ohingaiti last night, addressed by Messrs Stevens and Ivess, the latter announced his intention to retire from the contest in favor of Mr Stevens. MR LETHBRIDGE AT MARTON. It was rumoured in town to-day that Mr Lethbridge, who spoke at Marton last night, did not receive the same courteous reception as was accorded to Mr Stevens in Feilding. The meeting was inclined to be rowdy, but Mr Lethbridge was not disconcerted. As usual, the Marton agent of tbe Press Association failed to send us any account of the meeting.
