• Mr Fraser addressed a meeting of the electors in Oampbelltown on Tuesday last, in tho Temperance Hall. There was a very large attendance and among the audience were a considerable number of ladies. Mr Y. C. Ransom presided, and in an appro- , priate speech introduced the candidate. ; Mr Fraser opened his address by giving a brief account of his early career in the colony, of which he was one of the pioneer settlers on this coast, and enumerated the principles which had guided him through life. He said he could not attempt to give them an elaborate speech as he had had no experience in Parliament, but be would stfite his political views as briefly as was consistent with clearness, and in bis own way. He then went over the planks of his platform as published in the Feilding Star. He then stated his willingness to answer any questions. A considerable number of these were accordingly put, which Mr Fraser answered to the best of his ability. Mr Anderson proposed, and Mr Glover seconded, a resolution that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to Mr Fraser for his address. This was carried almoit unanimously. A vote of thanks to the chairman, moved by Mr Fraser, terminated the proceedings.
