The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report on their sale at Hawera as fol. lows :— We held the first of our series of parc- bred stock sales (in future to be held annually on the day following the Egmont A. and P. Show) in the Howe Bazaar, Union Street, on Friday, the 2nd insfc. The attendance was only moderate, but taken altogether the aale was a great success. The chief feature of the sale was the pure-bred Shorthorn bulls offered on behalf of the manager, Mr A. A. Fan* tham, and which were sold as follows :— - The champion stud bull Oxford's Duke 4th, for 55 guineas ; 8 young bulls, at prices ranging from 21 to 37 guineas, Mr Livingstone's polled Shorthorn bulls were much admired, and two sold, one at 12£ guineas and the other at 12 guineas. Mr Fantham's pure-bred Berkshire pigs (2 boars and 5 sows) realised 4 and 3| guineas, respectively, and a 12»stone hack offered on behalf of Mr J. Heslop, Nor* manby, fetched 20 guineas. Our stock sale at Manaia, which was held on Wednesday, the Bth instant, was not a large one, there bein* only a limited number of cattle entered. Bidding was fairly brisk, so that at the finish very few hues left the, .yards unsold. We quote • 10* 6d j 18.months to 2 year steer?, L 3 to LJ 15s ; cows and heifers, in calf, L 3 11s 6i to L 5 Is; 18-months to 2-ycur heifers, L 2 17s to L 3 7s 6d.
