FIVE LIVES LOST.

(fee mess association.) Mabton, November 13. A slip occurred at Makohine, near Obingaiti, tkis morning, burying Mrs Quinlivan and her three children. A party of men are engaged in the work of recovering the bodies, but up to a late hour in the afternoon only that of the mother was found. Later news to hand is to the effect that the wife of Mr T. Quinhynn and three children, as well as a child of M. Quinlivan's, had been killed at Mokohine by a fall of earth from the railway tunnel, which, with the whole hill side, bulged out and collapsed at about 9 a.m. The names of the persons killed are Johannah Quinlivan,her two sons John and Thomas, her daughter Hannah, and * her neice Poppy, in all five persons, Tlie bodies of the mother and two of the children have beea recovered.
