VRC SPRING MEETING.
(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Melbourne, November 9. The weather to-day was magnificent. The attendance was large, and the racing good. Flying Stakes—Loyalty 1, Titan 2, Linburn 3 Oaks—The Dauphine 1, Bessie McCarthy 2, Somniloquist 3 Spring Handicap—The Captain 1, Dramatist 2, Kookaburra 3 Royal Park Stakes—Vakeel 1, Malvolio 2, Jeweller 3 Veteran Stakes—Portsea 1, Penance 2, Moscow 3 Tarcoola's win in the Melbourne Cup was a very lucky one. Carnage must undoubtedly have won had he had a stronger boy up to steady him during tbe first portion of the journoy.
