The Public Trust Office, constituted by "The Public Trust Office Act, 1872," has been since much enlarged lv its functions by amending Acts, to meet growing requirements. The Amendment Act of 1891 facilitates administration, authorises prompt distribution, provides absolute security against loss to estates from investments at tho discretion of the l'ubhc Trustoe, aud insures the regular paymont of the interest. The Security and Fidelity of tho Pub. lie Trustee's administration must bo considered of tho utmost importanco to ovory porson contemplating tho appointment of a trustee. Tho colony guarantees the fidelity of the administration, and Guarantees also the Integrity of the Capital Funds iuveßted at tho option of tho Public Trustee. Tho Colony Guarantees also, on the capital funds arising for invostmont out of the proportios placed in tho Public Trust Office, c, common rate of interest, to bo paid quartorly, Free of all charges of the Public Trust Office. Tho value of this guarantee is in tho Cuarantee of the Colony agaiust loss from investments in bad or Insufficient securities, and against Ipss from delay in investment, and for the regular and punctual payment of the interest, free of all charges of the Public Trunt Office. Iv tho appointtoeut or Trustees thero must always bo SeriOUS concern as to the security of the capital funds; and the larger the capital funds tho greater must be tho concern for security, aud the less for a. high rato of interest. Tho Public Trustee canuot die, cannot leave tho colony, canuot become disqualified, or involved m privato difficulties; aud cannot be distrusted. Iv privato trusteeships, death and abßonce rondor nocessary numerous and expensive deeds not roquired by Public Trustees administration; which has, besidos, tho oflloe solicitor's advice without expense to the estates.
