Mr Goodbehere said that the Sports Reserve would, by the end of next month, be vested in trustees and would then be the property of the Borough ; the deeds were being prepared now. Mr Sherwill referred to the damage done to the property on the Oval. The locks to nil the doors and the windows were smashed, and the property in the sheds had suffered considerably. He would like anyone to let him know when they saw persons knocking about things on the Oval and he would take on himself the responsibility of prosecuting. Everything was in good repair at the last sports and now it would take about £l5 < 3pr £20 to make good the damage. Behind been told that some person was seen galloping a horse in the Oval, cutting up the ground. Mr Goodbehere .suggested that someone residing near should be paid a small sum for caretakiug. He would like to see trees planted and the place beautified generally. Mr Kirton thought it would be as well for the committee not to lease the pad* dock at all, as they only got £10 for the paddock, and it cost them £20 for repairs. Mr P. Thomson suggested to shut it up and make hay. Mr Smith, lessee of the paddock, ex* plained that the galloping in the Oval was by a boy who went there without his permission or knowledge. A lot of the damage was caused by the followers of football teams. The matter was left in the hands of the committee, who will deal severely with any person founi damaging property on the Oval. Mr Kirton moved a vote of thanks to the chairman, and the meeting adjourned. _ ___^__ _ _____
