The Feilding Star. Published Daily WEDNESDAY, OCT 25, 1893. THE BUILDING SOCIETY.
— *. It may bo accepted as a substantial mark of tho progress of Feildiug that the Provisional Directors of the l'ermuuent Building Society have already received such liberal support that they bave determined to register tho Society, and place it on a proper legal footing. The want of an association of this kind has long been felt here, and we feel assured that now one is established much will be done in the way of assisting individuals in erecting private residences on their town and suburban sections. Of course it is not to be expected that the Directors will adopt any other course than one of prudence and moderation. They will begin and carry on according to the means at their disposal, and resolutely set their faces against investments which savor of speculation in the slightest degree. By so doing the advantage and profit to contributors and investors will be absolutely secured. We would urge on those who have not already done so, to join the Society at once, because the first list will be closed at the end of the current month.
