Feilding Borough Council.
A special meeting of the Feilding Bor* j ough Council w*a held at noon to»day to confirm the bye-laws adopted at a prerious meeting of the Council. Present — The Major (Mr E. Goodbehere), Coun« cillors Sandilands, Carthew, Fowles, T. R. Chamberlain, and H. Worsfold. A letter was received from Captain H E. Tremain, of tho Salvation Army, forwarding resolution passed by that body | on October 15 (already published in the Stab), protesting against the confirming of Bye law No. 5, clauses 41 nnd 42, as < it was believed they would interfere with < them. In this letter Captain Tremain i said the protest had been lodged as trouble had been caused at Milton over a similar bye-law. j Cr Carthew enquired if it was within the power of the Council to suspend any j Bye-laws after they had been confirmed. The Mayor : Yes. Proposed by tho Mayor, seconded by Cr Fowles, That the special order pro posed at the meeting of the Council on 1 September 23rd, re Byelaws.be hereby confirmed, and the Bye-laws as attached hereto adopted. — Carried. ' Proposed by Cr Sandilands, seconded by Cr Worsfold, That the seal of the Council be affixed to the new Bye-laws adopted by special resolution at a meeting held on the 23rd day of September last, and this day confirmed, and that the seal be affixed by the Mayor, Cr Fowles, and the mover. — Carried. The meeting then adjourned.
